Our County Team has approached us with a fantastic DofE opportunity for 2024 for any Explorer or Network member wanting to complete their DofE Gold expedition and King’s Scout Expedition.
About The Award
The Award has five sections:
Expedition: Four days of walking and camping, carrying all equipment and food.
Physical: Regular involvement in a sports or fitness activity.
Volunteering: Community service, with a group or organisation.
Skill: Work developing a new or existing skill.
Residential: Five consecutive days with a minimum of four nights spent away from home.
Participants are expected to give about an hour a week to each section. If they have completed Silver, they will complete Volunteering for 12 months, either Skill or physical for 12 months, then the other section for six months. If they haven’t completed their Silver award, they can still enrol in the Gold but must complete one section for 18 months.
